Coaching cycle kit (one per principle)
Each cycle is two weeks and uses the same five steps, so teachers learn the format once.
| Step | What happens | Time |
|---|---|---|
| 1. See it | Coach does a five-minute visit using one look-for from the visit card | 5 minutes |
| 2. Name it | One-sentence note: what's working, one next step | 2 minutes |
| 3. Model it | Coach models the routine with the teacher's own lesson | 10 minutes |
| 4. Practice it | Teacher rehearses with the coach playing students, twice, with feedback after each | 10 minutes |
| 5. Check it | Coach returns within a week, looking only for that step | 5 minutes |
Rule: one next step at a time. A teacher working on three things is working on none.
Six-week coaching sprint (one school)
| Week | Focus for every teacher | Coach looks for |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Three-two-one warm-up | Review from memory at the start of every lesson |
| 2 | Whiteboards up | Every student answering at once |
| 3 | I do, we do, you do | Model before practice |
| 4 | Worked examples | Solved example beside new problem types |
| 5 | Mixed review | Earlier material in homework and warm-ups |
| 6 | Consolidation | All five, in a full lesson |
Measure of success: by week 6, the share of five-minute visits showing each look-for, tracked on one sheet.
